Get Ready to Go Global!

Travel - and Global Destination Sailing - is slowly coming back to life. In fact, club member Ash Razdan recently chartered a catamaran in the BVIs (pictured below), and Modern Sailing is launching an Italy “Sail the Amalfi Coast” flotilla this September, 2022!

Here at Inspire Sailing, we’re considering Global Destination Sailing plans for 2023 now, so stay tuned for updates!

In the meantime, you can do some things to get ready to go global with us!

Get Your IPC: To skipper international charters, you’ll need an International Proficiency Certificate (IPC). It is essentially an international Bareboat Cruising (BBC) certification. So if you are BBC certified, we can help you with the paperwork for an IPC.

Get Experience on a Catamaran: The spacious and comfortable catamarans are getting more and more popular, especially for Global Destination Sailing flotillas. Modern Sailing has two catamarans in their fleet - as a dual site member you can gain access to the crew list and join for Bay sails.

Practice Specialized Skills: Maneuvers like docking, anchoring, and mooring are important during vacation charters. Practice here on the Bay, especially during the week when boats and spaces are available!

Renew Your Passport: Remember for international travel your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return!
